Most people need a work permit to work in Canada. There are 2 types of work permits: open work permits and employer-specific work permits. In some situations, a work permit can be applied at the Port of Entry or inland, but anyone can apply before they enter Canada. However, there may be visa office requirements that you need to meet depending on what country or territory you\u2019re applying from.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can apply for a work permit if you:<\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead>
– prove to an officer that you will leave Canada when your work permit expires<\/td><\/tr>
– show that you have enough money to take care of yourself and your family members during your stay in Canada and to return home<\/td><\/tr>
– pass criminal check<\/td><\/tr>
– pass medical exam if needed<\/td><\/tr>
– not plan to work for an ineligible employer<\/td><\/tr>
– not plan to work for an employer who, on a regular basis, offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

To extend a work permit, you need to:<\/strong><\/th><\/tr><\/thead>
– apply for it at least 30 days before the expiry date<\/td><\/tr>
– make sure your passport do not expire at the same time<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
