If you\u2019re interested in this program, you must have relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics for number of years, and be willing and able to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table id=\"tablepress-2\" class=\"tablepress tablepress-id-2\">\n<thead>\n<tr class=\"row-1\">\n\t<th class=\"column-1\">Eligibility Criteria<\/th><th class=\"column-2\">Requirements<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody class=\"row-striping row-hover\">\n<tr class=\"row-2\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Have relevant experience<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">In the past 5 years, applicants must have at least 2-year experience in the following two fields:<br \/>\n<br \/>\n- for cultural activities:<br \/>\n   a. 2 one-year periods being self-employed in cultural activities, or<br \/>\n   b. 2 one-year periods participating at a world-class level in cultural activities, or<br \/>\n   c. a combination of a one-year period described in (a), and a one-year period described in (b)<br \/>\n<br \/>\n- for athletics:<br \/>\n    a. 2 one-year periods being self-employed in athletics, or<br \/>\n    b. 2 one-year periods participating at a world class level in athletics, or<br \/>\n    c. a combination of a one-year period described in (a) above, and a one-year period described in (b) above<br \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-3\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Be willing and able to be self-employed in Canada<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Applicants must demonstrate that they have enough funds and adequate ability to support themselves in Canada as a self-employed person and contribute to Canadian cultural and athletic development.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-4\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Meet the program\u2019s selection criteria<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">Applicants must score at least a total of 35 points out of 100 in 5 selection criteria:<br \/>\n- experience (maximum 35 points)<br \/>\n- education (maximum 25 points)<br \/>\n- age (maximum 10 points)<br \/>\n- language abilities (maximum 10 points)<br \/>\n- adaptability (maximum 6 points)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr class=\"row-5\">\n\t<td class=\"column-1\">Meet medical, security and other conditions<\/td><td class=\"column-2\">- Applicants and their family members must have a medical exam and get police certificates.<br \/>\n- Applicants must show that they have enough money to support themselves and their family after  they get to Canada<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<!-- #tablepress-2 from cache -->\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Self-employed Persons Program allows people to immigrate to Canada permanently as a self-employed person.
